Work/Experience - Current

Linux since kernel 1.2.13
Bash, Python, C, Rust (capable in many other languages but these I use most often)
Leading teams and working primarily with Distributed Systems and Cloud Infrastructure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, Linux, small or large teams, and budgets winning through failure.

15+ years in designing, implementing, programming, managing, team leadership around all things cloud. Using the right tool for purpose and in cases where that isn’t available or hasn’t been chosen, doing the best with the tools available. Against zealotry around solving problems, whatever tool is available that allows for the least friction to solve a problem or achieve a goal is what i’ll use (with the one exception, emacs, I will always choose Vim, and the truth is for those in-the-know; it’ll usually always be available. Recently field testing an editor named Helix but we are early days (Nov 2025))

Highly competent in all things related to distributed systems, cloud architecture/infrastructure, opsSec and devops. If you have an interesting problem as it relates to any of those things i’m interested (small or large). If the problem is related to anything that spans multiple countries or continents even better, please feel free to reach out.

Nowadays my time is spent between esoteric distributed projects related to the Cloud, security related issues and concerns, management, budget juggling, mentorship, finding answers to questions, fighting the enshittification of the internet, as well as manufacturing in general. Every other waking moment of my life is spent being a parent, it’s seemingly life long according to the experts.

Random

Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) unrestricted permit holder in New York that supports Federal legislation around guns and weapons, including mandatory federal guidelines for all police in the United States.
Supporter/Fan of Land Rover LR4’s (2010-2013), Ineos Grenadiers (2024-onward) and late model Jeep Liberty’s 2010-2012; would love for a proper electric SUV or truck to be made available; until then keeping quality built vehicles on the road prevents global warming.
Love technology but am from the WHY to profit pipeline rather than emotion or FAD response to tech. Similar to the Warren Buffet response to technology investment.
Work - United States Army, Google, Media Organizations, MVBMS, FuelNA, Primedia, New York Magazine, KKR, City of New York, New York University, etc, etc.
Will work on defense projects, will not work on projects or weapons that will eventually be used against human beings (robots fighting in space, yeah, ok).
Politically agnostic, if the legislation supports American citizens and the larger international community I don’t care what party it might have come from.
Don’t use LinkedIN but love meeting new and interesting peers and people, feel free to remove the spamfree in the email address above.
Prefer to avoid FAD response to technology unless investment can be used to solve problems or make profit.
Citizen of the USA but am well traveled and have a healthy respect and admiration for many countries.
Fan and avid supporter of Right-to-Repair and keeping items functional for as long as possible.
