Linux practitioner since kernel 1.2.13. Technical judgment has to hold up under executive scrutiny, board-level risk conversations, and real production load.
I lead at the intersection of executive ownership and engineering credibility: directing organizations and programs across distributed systems and multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud, Linux). Scope includes delivery and reliability outcomes, security and operations posture, budget and capacity planning, and the people systems that make teams durable. I have built and recovered under real constraints: learning from failure, institutionalizing what worked, and not repeating what did not.
Fifteen-plus years designing, implementing, and operating cloud platforms, with progressive accountability for architecture, execution, and organization leadership. Decision style is pragmatic and investment-aware: choose the path that reduces friction, protects the business, and produces durable outcomes. Tool zealotry is a liability at executive altitude. (One standing exception: Vim over Emacs. Helix remains under evaluation.)
Where I am strongest: cloud and distributed systems strategy, platform and infrastructure organizations, ops/security at scale, and cross-functional leadership that connects engineering reality to business goals. Especially interested in problems that span regions or continents, and in mandates where an executive is expected to set direction, own results, and grow leaders.
Open to conversations with founders, CEOs, CTOs, and executive search partners hiring for cloud, infrastructure, platform engineering, or adjacent technology leadership. Current focus spans organizational leadership, portfolio and budget stewardship, security posture and risk, cloud-scale distributed systems, mentorship of managers and senior ICs, and manufacturing-adjacent work, alongside a long-running interest in resisting the enshittification of the internet. The rest of the calendar is parenting, which the experts assure me is a permanent role.
